Does It Hold Up?
We discuss older movies from all eras and determine if they still hold up or not. We look at the directing, cinematography, acting, writing, and everything else before making our final decision. Some movies we are watching for the very first time and others we have seen more time than we can count. Join us on our journey to see what does and what doesn’t hold up.

November 7th, 2000 is the day Jim Carrey squeezed into a skintight, hairy, green outfit to bring to life one of Dr. Seuss' magical creations. The Grinch hated Christmas and wanted to ruin it for all the Whos in Whoville after they humiliated him. So he snuck into their houses on Christmas Eve and stole everything before having a change of heart. But why does Grinch hate Christmas? What's the story behind the book and character. This movie tried to answer all the questions we had the first time we read the story or saw the animated classic. And now, we try to answer the question we probably all have, Does this movie still Hold Up?

Hey everyone, it's Tuesday. You know what that means. Does it Hold Up is here with a short fun podcast for your listening pleasure. We have a little game that you could play with friends and family for the holidays. Emily and Adam picked their 10 favorite holiday movies each and then took turns asking each other to put those movies into certain situations. For example, Adam could have said to Emily that she has to replace all actors with children...then Emily would pick one of her favorite films to put into that situation. Once she's used that movie, she can't use it again. So decide carefully. Hope you enjoy and make sure to follow us on our socials. Link below.

It's a strange type of Tuesday. We are here with a fun episode about movies based on kids tv shows. Hope you're still with us. Here's the rules for this episode: We took the 12 highest grossing movies (adjusted for inflation) based on kids tv shows and we picked which one to watch if we had to watch them 12 days in a row. We go from day 12 to day 1 and reveal which of these movies we think would be ending on the best note.
The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, The Addams Family (1991), Inspector Gadget, The Flintstones, The Simpsons Movie, Casper, George of the Jungle, The Last Avatar, The Rugrats Movie, and Scooby-Doo.
It's a crazy premise for an episode for it's a heck of a good time going back to look at these movies full of nostalgia. Hoping you'll spend your time with us and create your own order for the 12 days. Let us know over on our socials if you agree with our list or what your watch order would be.

July 14, 2000 mutants come to the big screen for the first time. Fox Studios puts together an all star cast of acting legends and up-and-comers. The US government wants all mutants (superpowered humans) to register and probably something more sinister even. Professor Xavier and his band of mutants, the titular X-Men, don't agree with this decision but want to resolve things in a peaceful way. Their opposites are Magneto and his Brotherhood of mutants who want to resolve things in a more violent way. Magneto has created a machine that can change normal humans to mutants. Which of these groups will come out on top? Will the US government get what they want? And most importantly, Does it Hold Up?

It's Tuesday. You know what that means. A shortened episode of the Does it Hold Up? podcast and we have something special for you this time. We couldn't think of an y good pitches for a sequel or reboot to 1998's Blade, but we were asking ourselves which vampires could he take down. So we decided to pick 5 movie vampires and have them face off in a battle royal to see who would be the last one standing. Our contestants are: Selene, Edward Cullen, Lestat De Lioncourt, Blade, and Hotel Transylvania's Dracula. Join us as we argue over who would come out on top of these bloodsuckers.

August 21, 1998 is when a Daywalker fought a vampire god. Wesley Snipes played the titular role in one of Marvel's first ventures into big screen movie. He's joined by a great supporting cast and some interesting characters. A lifetime of war for Blade against the undead with his partner Whistler is coming to an Armageddon as Deacon Frost is set to unleash La Magra, a literal vampire god. This dark and gritty R-Rated comic book movie would be a surprise hit with critics and audiences which would lead the studio to follow up with two sequels with varying degrees of success. Now in 2022 we want to know, Does it Hold Up?

Alight alright alright, it's really hard to make a sequel or reboot to a movie that sparked the entire franchise. You can hear our pitch in this episode, but that's not what you should stick around for. In this episode we are going to rank what we consider the best (and worst) MCU movies that are direct sequels to another MCU movie. Let us know how you think we did. Which movies will we be allowed to use:
Iron Man 2
Iron Man 3
Thor: The Dark World
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Captain America: Civil War
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Thor: Ragnarök
Avengers: Infinity War
Ant-Man and the Wasp
Avengers: Endgame
Spider-Man: Far From Home
Spider-Man: No Way Home
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Thor: Love and thunder
